The WikiWatershed™ website is designed to provide tools for citizens working to protect the water resources in their watersheds. In addition to the modules that are currently under development, we are developing additional applications:

- Browse watershed resources such as points of interest (parks, historic sites, etc.) and organizations active in specific areas using a geographic interface
- Highlight sites and trails worth visiting
- Access, view and visualize watershed geographic and water-quality data, and learn how to interpret them

- Learn about legal and political frameworks for protecting critical habitat, preserving open space and freshwater resources
- Use intuitive land-use analysis tools (GIS-based) to assess suitability for development or need for protection (critical habitat, steep slopes, historic resources, etc.)
- Post information about how to get involved in policy and advocacy efforts
- Share ordinances, case studies, etc. with other watershed groups to help with conservation efforts

- Collect data, photos, videos, etc. (posted via Share My Watershed)
- Learn how to conduct freshwater monitoring using the Leaf Pack Experiment Kit (developed by SWRC) and other techniques.
- Identify aquatic macroinvertebrates using a Water-Quality Cyber-tool

- Post geo-tagged monitoring data, photos, etc. (using applications as YouTube® and Flickr®)
- Social-network via forums, blogs, comments on photos, videos, data, etc.
- Share curricula, activities and techniques among nature centers, teachers and watershed groups.
